Library Book Sorters

Location: Mt Eden, Auckland
Availability: Wednesdays and possibly Fridays
Team size: 4 - 6

Description:

The objectives of this organisation are to promote and support the use of homeopathy in New Zealand. This is to ensure information is readily available for anyone interested in learning more about homeopathy. The organisation was founded in 1951 and it’s first president imported homeopathic books, which instigated the book selling operation and extensive lending library. The organisation is run by a small team of very dedicated volunteers and has continued to develop into a vibrant and cooperative organisation.

This organisation is in the process of updating the lending library system and need some extra hands to go through books and details on books and library list match.
It requires a team of four which will be divided into pairs.
There are approximately 1100 books to be checked and reviewed.

This is a one off project and may two to three days to complete. Ideally hours are between 9am and 4pm although some Fridays may be an option if preferred.

We were able to do labelling for the library - some books were 60 years old and never been labelled.
We enjoyed working alongside nice and friendly people working hard for the community to sustain a "tool" required for a good cause.
