Native Tree Planting around the Whau River

Location: Rosebank Peninsula Coastal Restoration Project, Avondale, Kelston, New Lynn or Blockhouse Bay
Availability: Weekdays or weekend days on booking through Volunteering Auckland
Team size: 6 - 200

Description:

This organisation is working towards a healthier habitat along the Whau River through community participation and kaitiakitanga (guardianship and protection). They deliver a wide range of community-based environmental projects, principally in collaboration with Auckland Council and other key stakeholders within the catchment. This includes programmes and projects in the areas of ecological restoration and conservation.

Planting season is in the cooler, wetter months of May, June, July and August. Planting in winter means that plants have plenty of time to get established and get their roots down before the hot, dry weather of summer.

If your team would love to work outdoors, and make a real difference - join us to plant a future forest.
