Fair Food rescues surplus, good food for charities, food banks and community agencies to feed people in need. Instead of being dumped, this food is doing good!
In 2021, we rescued enough surplus food from growers, distributors, and supermarkets to provide the equivalent of over 2 million nutritious meals for our community, saving food that would otherwise go to waste! We can’t do all this good work without the hands-on help of kind and committed volunteers.
Our current food sorting volunteering shifts are Monday to Friday, 12:15pm to 3pm.
We provide hi-viz vests, an apron and complete an on-site induction on your first day. Following our buddy-led ‘on the job’ training, you will need to be able to use good judgement on what food is 'fit to eat, fit to cook and fit to compost'.
