Description:

This charity was established in 2002. Our Kaupapa is; Life changing experiences for youth with disabilities and support to their families. We are committed to enhancing the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development and independence of young people with diverse abilities. We do this through the provision of quality adventure, recreation, social and education programmes.

MOXIE stands for Meaningful Opportunities Crossing Into Employment and is a series of projects which provide on-the-job learning and meaningful work experience for youth with developmental, physical or sensory disabilities. This educational arm of Recreate NZ equips people with the skills needed to pursue work, connection, and an increased sense of belonging. Recreate NZ aims to support all young people in New Zealand, no matter their ability, to participate in, and have access to equal youth development opportunities. These include new and challenging experiences, personal and skill development, leadership and mentoring; all resulting in building the quality of life, competency and resilience of young people. We believe employment plays as a tangible role in the representation of independence, financial autonomy, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
